Allocation announcements (determinations) are not announced in the Groundwater Management Units within the Melbourne region. Groundwater Management Units are managed with respect to the permissible consumptive volumes, which are established for each Groundwater Management Unit.
The allocation announcement for 2009–10 was assumed to equal the full entitlement in each Groundwater Management Unit. The only exception was the Deutgam Water Supply Protection Area, where a temporary qualification of rights to water meant that no allocations were made during 2009–10.
