26.1.9.3 Adjustment and forfeiture of allocation/claim on regulated flows—industrial and commercial holder

Supporting information

The liability decrease to the connected surface water store from the forfeiture of a part of the allocation/claim considered for the industrial and commercial entitlement holders is 2,179 ML.
The volume is the difference between Delta Electricity’s calculated volumetric allocation stated in Line item 25.1.9.3  (25,000 ML) from the Coxs River water source and Line item 14.7.9.3 (22,821 ML) use.

Quantification approach

Data source

Entitlement information from:

Metered data for diversions are from reservoirs from Delta Electricity data spreadsheets.

Data provider

  • The Bureau of Meteorology: calculated adjustment and forfeiture of allocation/claim.
  • The NSW Office of Water: entitlement information.
  • Delta Electricity: metered data for diversions from reservoirs.

Method

Forfeiture of allocation for the regulated entitlement category is the difference between announced allocation and measured diversions from the reservoirs.

Line item 25.1.9.3 provides the calculation method for volumetric value for the announced allocation/claim from regulated flows for the industrial and commercial holder category.

Ultrasonic flow meters were used to measure diversions from Lake Lyell, Lake Wallace and Thomsons Creek Reservoir to the Mt Piper and Wallerawang power stations.

Uncertainty

Adjustment and forfeiture of allocation/claim was estimated. Uncertainty is ungraded.

Approximations, assumptions, caveats/limitations

For volumetric value for the announced allocation/claim: see ‘Approximations, assumptions, caveats/limitations’ in Line item 23.8.

For measured diversions: nil.
