Level 2 Water Restrictions

Uniform water restrictions apply to the Fraser Coast.

Residents and businesses in Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Tiaro and surrounding areas using potable water supplied by Wide Bay Water Corporation should be aware that Level 2 restrictions apply from 1 March 2014. This means that:

•All sprinklers, irrigation systems and soaker hoses are banned from 5:30am to 8:00pm.

•Use of water for sprinklers, irrigation systems and soaker hoses from rainwater tanks plumbed into mains water supply (top up connectors) or filled with mains water is banned outside of these times.

•Use of hand-held hoses is banned from 8:00am – 4:00pm.

•Hand-held hoses in use must be attended to at all times and fitted with a working trigger nozzle.

•Flushing of boat motors is allowed anytime for a maximum of 5 minutes at low water flow.

•Hosing of driveways and paved areas is banned at all times except where a water-efficient high-pressure cleaner (i.e. gerni) is used before 8:00am and after 4:00pm

All breaches of water restrictions will be investigated by Wide Bay Water Corporation and penalties for non-compliance with a water restriction can apply.
