Water Restrictions

The Bureau of Meteorology’s Water Restrictions website provides access to current water restrictions information for the whole of Australia. Water restrictions information can be searched by State or Territory, water agency and restriction name. Water restriction names and rules vary throughout Australia due to local requirements.

Description summary:

Watering residential, rural and commercial lawns and gardens (including school grounds/gardens):

- Sprinklers only to be used 6-8 pm, odds and evens applies.

Even houses: Tuesday and Saturday

Odd houses: Wednesday and Sunday

- Handheld watering at any time on any day

The use of weeper hoses has been restricted to Level 2 allocated watering times, people caught using them outside of these times will be fined.

TCC Parks and Gardens

No watering 9am-4pm and 24% reduction in irrigation volume

Commercial Nurseries and Market Gardens

No watering between 9am and 4pm. Watering outside of that time by:

- Water efficient sprinkler

- Hand-held trigger or twist nozzle

- Irrigation system

- Watering can or bucket

Washing vehicles and boats (other than flushing boat motors):

No restriction

Washing hard surfaces other than for safety issues:

Pressure washers only

Sports fields (including school sports fields)
•Sprinklers can be used between 6pm-8pm
•Handheld watering permitted at any time
