Metadata Consultation Process

The Bureau will consult with industry to develop metadata lists for each data subcategory. These lists will be completed progressively so that at any one time there will be multiple lists in different stages of development. The consultation process is as follows:

  1. Draft metadata lists
The Bureau will develop a draft metadata list and associated supporting documentation for a data subcategory.
  2. External review
The Bureau will publish the draft metadata list online and invite feedback from organisations named in the Water Regulations 2008 as well as other key industry stakeholders. The Bureau will seek comment on the completeness, relevance and availability of the metadata in the draft lists.
  3. Revision of metadata lists.
The Bureau will revise the metadata lists to integrate the feedback received and will publish FAQs to address any other comments and questions received.
  4. Inclusion in the Water Regulations 2008
Once finalised, metadata lists for each data subcategory will be added to the online document outlining the Metadata and Contextual Information Requirements.
