Standards Projects
Through the Modernisation and Extension of Hydrologic Monitoring Systems Program, the Bureau has funded the following projects to progress data collection standards:
- Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler Standards
- New South Wales Hydrometric Standards
- Water Quality Metadata
Through the Standards Business Forum, the Bureau is working with industry to gain broader acceptance and use of these standards.
The Bureau is also developing new and updated standards for the installation of Automatic Weather Stations. Read about the current information on the siting, installation and management of Automatic Weather Stations (AWS).
Consultation on Acoustic Doppler and Hydrometric Standards
The Standards Business Forum is currently seeking broad industry review of the Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler Standards and the New South Wales Hydrometric Standards. You are invited to contribute to the review through an online discussion forum hosted on the Australian Hydrographers Association web site. Register as a participant, follow the guidelines and make your comment by Friday 20th of April 2012.
A series of workshops will be held around the country in May 2012 to consolidate the review comment and progress endorsement of these standards.
