Assistant Director (Water Prediction)

We are seeking a passionate and talented leader for the position of Assistant Director (Water Prediction). The successful applicant for this senior position will lead the planning, implementation and management of our Water Forecasting Services Branch. The role has responsibility for delivering the Bureau's existing national flood forecasting function and leading a large team in developing a range of new national water availability forecasting services.

Position Title: Assistant Director (Water Prediction)
Classification: Senior Executive Band 1
Salary range: $128,811 - $138,204 pa (Total remuneration package up to approx $180,000 pa)
The benefits available include a fully serviced car, four weeks annual leave, cumulative sick leave benefits, long service leave after ten years continuous service and a contributory superannuation scheme. An option for cash, with payments made on a fortnightly basis, in lieu of the provision of a privately-plated Commonwealth vehicle, is available. No other part of the non-salary component of the package can be converted to cash.
Locations: Melbourne or Canberra
This position may be based in either Melbourne or Canberra, depending on the requirements of the individual and the Bureau.

Status: On-going, or fixed term basis, up to 5 years
The successful applicant will enter into an appropriate employment contract.
