This position will assist with hydrological studies in support of the development, implementation and maintenance of existing, improved and new flood forecasting systems and services and have a lead responsibility in real time flood forecasting and warning operations. While the role will be primarily involved in the provision of flood forecasting and warning services, there will be some opportunities to contribute in other areas of the Water Information Services program as appropriate, including water resources forecasting and assessment and other projects that address surface water, groundwater, water quality and water use.
Due to the Bureau's flood forecasting and warning functions employees will be required, on occasions, to work outside normal working hours.
