To secure the long term water supply of all Australians, the Australian Government has announced Water for the Future, a $12.9 billion water investment program. This includes $450 million for the 'Improving Water Information Program' administered by the Bureau of Meteorology and backed by the Commonwealth Water Act 2007 and key stakeholders. To support its expanded role in water information, the Bureau is building a world-class team of talented and innovative professionals and we are currently seeking an ICT Systems Administrator for our Canberra Water Division office.
This position provides technical support and administration of the communications and computing infrastructure in our Canberra Water Division Office. Duties involve system administration for office and scientific computing and communication systems, potentially including mission critical and disaster recovery back-up systems and contributing to the coordination and implementation of all new communications and computing systems. The position is due to commence in April 2009.
