To secure the long term water supply of all Australians, the Australian Government has announced Water for the Future, a $12.9 billion water investment program. This includes $450 million for the 'Improving Water Information Program' administered by the Bureau of Meteorology and backed by the Commonwealth Water Act 2007 and key stakeholders. To support its expanded role in water information, the Bureau is building a world-class team of talented and innovative professionals. We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Project Support Officer in the Canberra Water Division office to contribute to a small team involved in drafting the Australian Water Accounting Standards.
To succeed in this role you should have a knowledge of accounting theory and accounting standard development. You must also possess an outstanding ability to build productive working relationships through supporting the tasks and teams involved in drafting the Australian Water Accounting Standards. Qualifications in an accounting discipline is highly desirable.
