To secure the long-term water supply of all Australians, the Australian Government has announced Water for the Future, a $12.9 billion water investment program. This includes $450 million for the 'Improving Water Information Program' administered by the Bureau of Meteorology and backed by the Commonwealth Water Act 2007 and key stakeholders. To support its expanded role in water information, the Bureau is building a world-class team of talented and innovative hydrologists and is currently recruiting for senior hydrologist positions in our Brisbane Office.
This crucial role requires technical specialists who will take a lead role in managing and developing hydrological flood forecasting techniques, models and systems to underpin the provision of the Bureau's flood warning services in Queensland.
To succeed in this role you will have a passion for hydrology, possess expertise in hydrological models and/or operational forecasting, with superior communication skills.
