The Bureau has recently updated the home page for the Water and the Land webpage. The design was based on feedback indicating that users would like to monitor some of the pages more frequently.
Each of the panels will display the latest graphical output of that product. Clicking on each panel will open up the products webpage to get more information.
Benefits of the new design include:
Rainfall
amounts and likelihood for the next 3 months.

The
Rainfall Ranges presents graphs that compare the current
rainfall with historical values for every Bureau weather station
that has at least 20 years of continuous data. This means access
to over 700 stations Australia-wide. Through a clickable map
interface you can also view various rainfall scenarios for
the coming months based on past climate information recorded
at each site.

Check
out the chance of frost for tonight and tomorrow
night at a number of Bureau weather stations. Minimum temperature
thresholds of +4,+1, −2
and −5 °C are shown by coloured dots on a map. You can view
more detail by moving your mouse pointer over the weather station
dot of your choice, or you can select the table tab to view
a table of all details for the region. This service uses new
technology developed by Bureau scientists, which takes computer
model data and adjusts it based upon how accurate the model’s
recent forecasts have been. Always remember to check your local
forecast and warnings.

Check
the latest forecast wind patterns for the next 7 days. View
forecasts for all of Australia, or zoom into your state or
territory. Wind forecasts are based on the latest computer
model guidance. Maps show arrows indicating the direction the
wind is travelling, and shading to represent the average forecast
wind speeds. Wind gusts will be higher than the mean wind speeds.
This is only computer generated guidance, so always remember
to check local forecasts and warnings for details.

Graphs
of local weather conditions for the previous three days are
available for all of the Bureau’s automatic weather stations
around Australia. The graphs show temperature, humidity,
pressure, rainfall and wind speed and direction.
