FTP access

Rainfall forecasts via FTP

The Water and the Land computer generated rainfall forecasts are also freely available on the Bureau's FTP site under the numerical prediction directory. The forecasts are available as gridded data (netCDF format) and images.

IDYPME01: Daily rainfall totals
IDYPME02: Chance of rainfall

For example:
IDYPME01.pme.totl.200608011200.nc,
and

where the time is in UTC

Image files

IDYPME03: Daily rainfall total maps
IDYPME04: 4-day total maps
IDYPME05: Chance of rainfall maps

The image files are available for the national and state maps.
