The Bureau of Meteorology has made changes to data file extension for JavaScript Object Notation format (JSON) in column-major order.
Changes will occur to the JavaScript Object Notation format (JSON) in column-major order for all Bureau Observations station data on the web. This change is being made to improve consistency of our products and simplify data production systems.
From mid-October, two versions of these data will be provided in parallel for all observation sites, with differing file extensions.
- the existing files ending with .jsn; and
- new files ending with .json.
Noting: The files are otherwise identical.
After 30 days, in late November, the existing .jsn files will be discontinued and only the .json files will be provided.
Other JSON and AXF files will remain unchanged.
