Sample: Information Bulletin
Tropical cyclone information bulletins are designed to provide information to people on existing cyclones that do not pose a short-term threat to coastal communities in Australia.
Tropical Cyclone Information Bulletins are issued whenever a tropical cyclone exists in Australian waters, but is not expected to cause winds in excess of 62 km/h (gale force) over land in Australia* within 48 hours.
While the cyclone remains in Australian waters, but not expected to cause land-based gales within 48 hours, a tropical cyclone information bulletin will be issued every six hours.
Each Tropical Cyclone Information Bulletin will consist of the following information:
All land based communities.
Note that separate marine warnings will be issued, and all mariners should refer
to these warnings for relevant information.
Tropical Cyclone Information Bulletins are issued by Regional Offices of the Bureau of Meteorology in Brisbane for Coral Sea cyclones and Perth for Indian Ocean Cyclones. Tropical cyclones in the Northern zone will be a threat to some land area within 48 hours; hence Darwin does not issue Tropical Cyclone Information Bulletins.
* If a cyclone is expected to affect the east coast of Queensland, but not cross the coast, a watch or warning will only be issued if winds over land are expected to exceed 75 km/h
