Area affected Gulf of Carpentaria, Top End, Tiwi Islands, Timor Sea.
Central pressure Lowest estimated 980 hPa on the 11th. Lowest recorded 988 hPa on 11th at Warruwi and Maningrida.
Winds A recorded gust to 130 km/hr at Black Point on the 11th. Mean wind of 74 km/hr recorded at Warruwi with gusts to 105 km/hr.
Rainfall 24hr total of 164mm at Ramingining on the 11th.
Seas & storm surge Surges of around 2-2.5 metres estimated on Cobourg Peninsula and Goulburn Island, and 1.5 metres estimated at Nhulunbuy. Mountainous seas around 4 metres above normal tide level were observed at Wiltgie, on Cobourg Peninsula near the time of land fall.
Damage Two cargo vessels were damaged in high seas in Dundas Strait. A number of boats in Gove Harbour and surrounding bays were damaged or beached. Widespread areas of felled trees and some building damage around the Cobourg Peninsula and Top End north coast.
