Area affected Arafura Sea, northwest Gulf of Carpentaria.
Central pressure Lowest estimated 989 hPa on 17th. Lowest recorded 995 hPa at Angurugu on 17th.
Winds Maximum estimated 90 km/h on 17th. Maximum recorded 84 km/h at Northeast Island on 17th. Gales extended to about 220km from centre in north and west quadrants and up to 170km elsewhere on 16th and 17th.
Rainfall Highest 24hr fall was 278mm at Gove on 17th. Highest 4 day total was 473mm at Gove up to 18th.
Seas & storm surge Rough to very rough seas were reported from several ships and coastal stations. A surge of 1.5 to 2m above the normal high tide was reported at Bickerton Is.
Damage Few reports of wind damage. A yacht was washed aground near Nhulunbuy, and a good deal of erosion due to heavy rainfall.
