Area affected Gulf of Carpentaria, Cape York Peninsula, Coral Sea.
Central pressure Lowest recorded 980 hPa in the eye, Ely Camp on 9th. Lowest estimated in NT 985 hPa on 13th.
Winds 100 km/h (54kts) gusts recorded at Weipa on 9th. Kiana Stn estimated gusts up to 105 km/h on 13th.
Rainfall 259mm at Ely Camp on 9th. 72hr total of 320mm at Weipa. In NT light to moderate rains with 78mm in 6hrs at Kiana Stn and 67mm at Malapunya Stn on 13th.
Seas & storm surge

Rough to very rough seas. Beach profile radically changed at Dyfken Pt. Storm surge 1.2m at Weipa.
The highest significant wave was 3.76m and the highest wave peak was 6.69m as determined by the wave rider bouy WSW of Weipa on the 9th..

Damage

Wide swathe of tree damage from Weipa north to Mapoon and on southern Gulf coast near landfall. No structural damage in NT, but some trees were uprooted and blown over.
