Area affected Timor Sea, NW Bonaparte Gulf, Kimberley coast and coastal area west of Port Hedland.
Central pressure Lowest estimated 915 hPa on 7th. Lowest recorded 935 hPa at Mundabullungana (WA) on 8th. Lowest estimated was close to Troughton Island, 970hPa on the 3rd.
Winds Maximum estimated mean winds were 228 km/h on 7th. Maximum recorded mean wind was 141 km/h with gusts to 208 km/h at Port Hedland on 8th.
Rainfall Highest 24hr fall 360mm at Morandoo (WA). Cumulative falls over 4 days of around 600mm in Hedland area. Nil significant in N.T.
Seas & storm surge 2.6m surge at Port Hedland. Peak surge estimated at 3.7m.
Damage Widespread damage reported in Hedland area.
