Weather Situation
A slow-moving high pressure system is over the Tasman Sea. A weak low pressure trough over Victoria will remain slow-moving before deepening over western Victoria on Thursday and moving eastwards later on Thursday and early Friday. A high pressure ridge will lie to the south of Tasmania on Saturday while a low pressure trough will linger near northeastern Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday
Becoming cloudy. Scattered showers and thunderstorms from midday. Heavy falls possible with thunderstorms. Generally light winds but some stronger squalls with thunderstorms. Temperatures in the mid 20s during the day.

Forecast for Thursday
Cloud increasing. Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Winds northeast to northwesterly averaging 15 to 25 km/h increasing to 35 to 50 km/h by the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to around 14 with daytime temperatures reaching the low 20s.
Forecast for Friday
Cloudy. Scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorms. Winds northwesterly averaging 25 to 40 km/h shifting west to southwesterly around dawn, then becoming light during the afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to around 14 with daytime temperatures reaching between 14 and 19.
Forecast for Saturday
Cloudy. Scattered showers and the chance of thunderstorms, mainly in the east. Winds northerly averaging 15 to 25 km/h increasing to 20 to 30 km/h later in the evening. Overnight temperatures falling to around 11 with daytime temperatures reaching between 16 and 21.
