Coastal Waters Forecast for Victoria

Weather Situation

A slow-moving high pressure system is over the Tasman Sea. A weak low pressure trough over Victoria will remain slow-moving before deepening over western Victoria on Thursday and moving eastwards later on Thursday and early Friday. A high pressure ridge will lie to the south of Tasmania on Saturday while a low pressure trough will linger near northeastern Victoria.

West Coast: SA-VIC Border to Cape Otway

Forecast for Tuesday until midnight

Winds: East to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas: Below 1 metre. Swell: Southwesterly 1 metre. Patchy fog with reduced visibility.

Forecast for Wednesday

Winds: Southeasterly 5 to 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots during the morning then increasing to 15 to 20 knots later in the evening. Seas: Below 1 metre increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres around midday. Swell: Southwesterly about 1.5 metres. Patchy fog with reduced visibility.
