Warning Summary at issue time

Gale warning for Victorian waters between Wilsons Promontory and 60nm east of Gabo Island.

Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between SA-VIC Border and Wilsons Promontory.

Strong wind warning is current for Port Phillip.

Strong wind warning is current for Western Port.

Strong wind warning is current for Gippsland Lakes.

Weather Situation

A cold front will move across southern Victoria during today. A high pressure system over the Bight will remain to the west of Victoria during Monday and Tuesday as further cold fronts move from the Southern Ocean, across Tasmania to the Tasman Sea. The high will then cross Victoria late Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday

Isolated showers developing from the west this morning before contracting to southern and mountain areas during the afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north with fresh west to southwesterly winds extending throughout, strong at times near the coast.

Fire Danger: Generally low to moderate.

Forecast for Monday

Isolated showers in south, mainly near the coast. Fine and mainly sunny north of the ranges. Cool in the south, warmer in the north. Moderate southwest to southerly winds.

Forecast for Tuesday

Isolated showers in south, mainly near the coast. Fine and mainly sunny north of the ranges. Cool in the south, warmer in the north. Moderate southwest to southerly winds.

Forecast for Wednesday

Fine and sunny over the north. Morning drizzle patches in the south, then a partly cloudy afternoon. Cool to mild in the south but a little warmer north of the divide with light to moderate southerly winds.
