3-5 Jan 2007 Tropical moisture associated with a tropical low that weakened near the coast near 80 Mile Beach in the Pilbara on the 3rd, interacted with a deep mid-latitude trough resulting in heavy rain across the Goldfields, Eucla and Southeast Coastal Districts. As a result, the South Coastal Highway west of Esperance was cut with two bridges washed away, whilst preliminary reports indicate that approximately 50 000 sheep died because of hypothermia and drowning. Floodwaters also damaged fences, scoured top-soil and inundated some properties. Bandy Creek boat harbour, east of Esperance, was severely affected as floodwaters caused a weir to fail. Strong winds downed power lines, and high tides and heavy surf caused beach erosion. The storm surge was measured at 60cm.

25-28 Jan 2007 A period of very hot days coincided with strong easterlies and periods of thunderstorm activity. Storms developed near the west coast on the evening of the 25th. No reports of damage were received. The following day GinGin reported a gust to 93 km/h from a dry microburst.
28 January 2007 Thunderstorms enhanced strong easterlies to cause minor property damage (fences down, tree limbs broken) in the northeastern area around Ballajura and Malaga. A house was partly unroofed in the hills suburb of Karragullen.
3 Feb 2007 * High temperatures into the mid to high 40s and strong, gusty dry northerly winds caused extreme fire weather conditions across the SWLD. There were significant fires at Toodyay, Dwellingup, Forrestdale and Williams. A woman died when her car crashed as she tried to flee the approach fire near Toodyay. A total of 16 houses were destroyed at Dwellingup.

The left moving supercell persisted for 4 hours before moving outside Perth radar coverage. It produced 69mm at Mouroubra and 61mm at Bimbijy. Golf ball sized hail was reported from Kalannie. During thunderstorms in the Gascoyne two semi trailers were pushed over 180km north of Meekatharra.
26 Feb 2007 Lightning strikes to powerlines and power poles cut power to 25000 properties in Perth. Perth Airport recorded 551 lightning strikes in the 24hrs to 9am on Tuesday. There were reports of hail and some localised flooding in southern suburbs. Later that afternoon two left moving supercells were identified on the Perth radar in the Central Wheatbelt.
