Tornado at Toodyay caused damage to houses and trees.

29 August 1998

Golf ball size hail caused damage to trees and cars in Perth suburbs.

26 September 1998

Tornado damaged 24 houses in Midland. Damage mainly roof capping, garden sheds, fences and tree branches.

28 November 1998

Tornado near Dowerin. Suspected tornado near Quairading.

13 December 1998

Wind and hail damage and flash flooding at Irwin House in the Central West, 43mm of rain in 20 minutes.

14-15 December 1998

Severe downburst with large hail produced damage in Perth’s southern suburbs. One person killed by lightning strike. Damage mainly to trees, fences and power lines.

31 December 1998

Wind gusts to 96 km/h caused damaged to roof tiles, trees and power lines in Esperance.

5 January 1999

Tennis ball size hail reported east of Norseman.

16 January 1999

Strong winds, large hail and flash flooding at Mardathuna Station in the Gascoyne. Tree and fence damage with 50mm of rain in 20 minutes.

22 January 1999

Severe downburst near Kellerberrin and west of Toodyay. Significant house and tree damage.

23 January 1999

Suspected tornado near Bindoon. Frequent lightning and flash flooding in Perth suburbs.

31 January 1999

Flash flooding and strong winds reported from Kukerin and Gnowangerup.

2 February 1999

Gust to 107 km/h recorded at Eucla.

13 February 1999

Strong winds and large hail damaged fences and blew over trees at King Rocks Outpost in the Great Southern.

3 March 1999

Gust to 100 km/h at Derby and possible gust to 157 km/h.

12 March 1999

Flash flooding in Dalwallinu, 50.2mm of rain in 30 minutes.

15 March 1999

Large hail reported near Kookynie and Leinster in the Goldfields.

14 April 1999

Gust to 90 km/h recorded at Ocean reef. Power outages and fires caused by lightning strikes in the Perth area.

19 May 1999

Strong winds caused major damage to one house, minor damage to 15 others and pushed over 2 trees in the Perth suburb of Westfield.

11 June 1999

Wind damage to house roofs and trees in the suburb of Mount Pleasant.

17 June 1999

Tornado damaged 100 houses, 20 significantly, and trees in the suburbs of Shoalwater, Safety Bay and Waikiki.

22 June 1999

Tornado at Australind damaged 12 houses with a damage path 25-50m wide and 400m long. Flash flooding at Mandurah and Wanneroo

25 June 1999

Flash flooding from Witchcliffe to Beenup, 86mm of rainfall in 3 hours.
