13 July 1999

Several tornado’s sighted near Rockingham but little damage reported.

14 July 1999

Significant tree damage from a suspected tornado at Andorra Farm, 10km ESE of Cranbrook.

25 August 1999

Tornado produced extensive damage from Fremantle to Ardross.  A block of flats and a house had their roofs completely removed.  One person sustained minor injuries.

2 September 1999

Tree damage in a swathe about 500-1000m wide near Kojonup.
Report of a tornado near Capel where a large area of trees were stripped of foliage and several pushed to the ground.

7 October 1999

Tornado near Wagin produced damage along a path 4km long and 200m wide.

23 October 1999

A wind gust of 106 km/h was recorded at Laverton during a thunderstorm.

1 November 1999

Thunderstorms produced hail around golf ball size that significantly damaged crops near the Central Wheatbelt town of Kalannie.

2 November 1999

Marble sized hail from thunderstorms damaged crops for a second day near Kalannie.

4 November 1999

Hail and flash flooding from thunderstorms reported around Kojonup, 50mm of rain fell in 30 minutes.

16 November 1999

Warburton recorded a mean wind of 85 km/h and wind gusts to 122 km/h.  A heavy downpour associated with the storm brought 13mm of rain in 4 minutes.

27 November 1999

Wind gusts to 94 km/h blew down numerous fences, lifted roof sheeting from several buildings and pushed trees onto overhead power lines at Mount Magnet.  Golf ball sized hail broke through the roof of the local hotel and parts of the ceiling collapsed.

3 December 1999

Some damage to buildings from flash flooding, 50.2mm of rain fell in 30 minutes at Dalwallinu.

29 December 1999

Thunderstorms with hail caused damage to orchards near New Norcia.

2 January 2000

Newman experienced flooding around the town and mine site when 46mm of rain fell in 2 hours.

5 January 2000

Cobra station in the Gascoyne recorded 16.8mm of rain in 1 hour and 2cm hail damaged trees.

10 January 2000

Flash flooding and some wind damage occurred in the Kalgoorlie area.  There was 9.8mm of rain in 8 minutes and wind gusts to 78 km/h recorded.  Electricity supplies to the City were interrupted for a number of hours.
Table tennis ball sized hail reported to the southeast of Gnowangerup.

14 January 2000

Hail up to 2cm in size reported in Perth suburbs with some minor flooding.
Some tree and crop damage caused by flash flooding in Toodyay, 31.4mm of rain fell in 35 minutes.

30 January 2000

Trees uprooted and damaged and some flash flooding reported from Cuballing.
A house and sheds damaged near Lake Barlee.

29 February 2000

Flash flooding occurred in Burracoppin with 72mm of rain recorded in 45 minutes.

20 April 2000

Flash flooding occurred around Jandakot when 38mm of rain fell in 90 minutes.

31 May 2000

House in Kallaroo damaged by strong winds.

20 June 2000

Three tornado’s sighted near Pearce but no damage reported.

30 June 2000

Tornado caused damage to several houses and a block of flats in Fremantle.
