The following are the standard regions reccommended for the SVSLRF. However users whose systems do not cover these regions are still encouraged to submit data for the areas over which their model produces outlooks.

• Tropics; 20°S to 20°N
• Northern extratropics; >=20°N
• Southern extratropics; <=20°S
