Coastal Waters Forecast for South Australia

for the period until midnight CDT Sunday 1 March 2026.

Weather Situation

A high pressure centre over waters to the south of SA will move into the Tasman Sea during today. A tropical low pressure system centred over the southeast of the NT extends a trough into the northeast of SA. This low is expected to remain near stationary today, after which it is expected to move southwards on Saturday. The associated trough is then expected to move east northeastwards on Sunday and Monday as a new high pressure system moves in from the west.

Far West Coast: WA-SA Border to Fowlers Bay

Forecast for Friday 27 February until midnight

Winds: Southeasterly 15 to 20 knots. Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore. 1st Swell: Southwesterly 1 to 1.5 metres. 2nd Swell: Southeasterly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres around midday, then decreasing to around 1 metre by early evening. Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm.
