Coastal Waters Forecast for South Australia

for the period until midnight CDT Friday 31 October 2025.

Weather Situation

A high pressure system well south of the state will extend a ridge coastal waters until a trough begins to enter in the west early Thursday. This trough and a weak embedded low pressure system will sweep across waters on Thursday with a weak high pressure system developing in the Bight on Friday. This high will move eastwards, making way for cold front moving into the west late Saturday.

Far West Coast: WA-SA Border to Fowlers Bay

Forecast for Tuesday 28 October until midnight

Winds: East to southeasterly 10 to 15 knots. Seas: Below 1 metre. 1st Swell: Southeasterly around 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore. 2nd Swell: Southwesterly around 1 metre. Weather: Partly cloudy.

Forecast for Wednesday 29 October

Winds: East to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots, reaching up to 25 knots offshore in the late evening. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning. 1st Swell: Southeasterly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre during the morning. 2nd Swell: Southwesterly around 1 metre. Weather: Partly cloudy.

Winds: East to northeasterly 15 to 25 knots becoming northeasterly 20 to 30 knots before dawn then tending northwest to southwesterly 15 to 25 knots in the morning.
