A ridge of high pressure over the Territory maintains east to southeasterly winds over coastal waters until later tonight when a trough starts moving west about the Gulf of Carpentaria. The trough will move across the northern Top End on Thursday and Friday, east to southeasterly winds returning to coastal waters in its wake.
