A trough over the Timor Sea extends across the Gulf of Carpentaria directing northwesterly winds over the northern coastal areas, and fresh southeasterly winds over southern coastal areas. A Tropical Low (1002 hPa) is developing in the Timor Sea, and is expected to move in a general east to northeast direction.
