Weather Situation
A low pressure trough lies over eastern districts with an associated a low pressure system to the north of the state over southern NSW. This low remains near stationary until it moves northward on the weekend, reducing its influence over Victoria. A high pressure system will also drift south of Tasmania over the coming days and will extend a ridge across the state on the weekend once the low shifts northwards. Another trough of low pressure will move across the state early next week.

- Southerly 20 to 30 knots decreasing to 20 to 25 knots in the evening then increasing to 20 to 30 knots in the late evening.

- Southwesterly 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres in the far east.
- 2nd Swell
- East to southeasterly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres in the far east.

- Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm in the far east.

Strong Wind Warning for Friday for West Coast
- Winds
- South to southeasterly 15 to 25 knots tending east to southeasterly 20 to 25 knots during the day. Winds reaching up to 30 knots inshore during the afternoon and evening.

- 1.5 to 2.5 metres.
- 1st Swell
- Southwesterly 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres in the east.
- 2nd Swell
- East to southeasterly 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing to around 1 metre during the morning, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres in the west around midday.
