A trough over will linger over the northeast before moving over the Tasman Sea on Saturday. A cold front moves over the south of the State on Saturday. A ridge of high pressure then builds over the state during Sunday, lingering on Monday, before another cold front clips the south on Monday. A new ridge moves over the State on Tuesday.

Saturday 6 December
- Winds
- Variable about 10 knots becoming west to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots before dawn. Winds reaching up to 25 knots offshore in the late evening.

- Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning, then decreasing below 1 metre around midday.
- 1st Swell
- Northeasterly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres in the far east.
- 2nd Swell
- Southwesterly around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres in the far west by early evening.

- Partly cloudy. 70% chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.

- West to southwesterly 20 to 25 knots increasing to 20 to 30 knots before dawn then decreasing to 15 to 25 knots in the early afternoon.
