Rainfall

• Rainfall totals in September were below to very much below average for much of the state, but above to very much above average for far northern areas.
• Queensland's area-averaged rainfall total in September was 3.8 mm, 70% below the 1961–1990 average.
• It was the driest September in Queensland since 2023.
• Brittania site had its highest September daily rainfall on record.
• Several sites had their highest total September rainfall on record.
• Several sites had their highest total September rainfall for at least 20 years.

Temperature

• Mean maximum temperatures in September were very much above average for much of the state, but below average for parts of the Peninsula and North Tropical Coast.
• Queensland's area-averaged mean maximum temperature was 31.5 °C, 2.81 °C above the 1961–1990 average, the sixth warmest on record for all Septembers since 1910.
• Queensland had its highest mean maximum temperature for September since 2017.
• Bedourie had its highest September mean maximum temperature on record.
• Three sites had their lowest September mean maximum temperature on record.
• Several sites had their lowest September mean maximum temperature for at least 20 years.
• Mean minimum temperatures in September were very much above average to highest on record for southern inland areas, and above average for the south-east and north-west. Temperatures were below average for some northeastern inland areas and close to average elsewhere.
• Queensland's area-averaged mean minimum temperature was 15.4 °C, 1.82 °C above the 1961–1990 average.
• Queensland had its highest mean minimum temperature for September since 2024.
• Several sites had their highest September mean minimum temperature on record.
• Low Isles Lighthouse had its lowest September mean minimum temperature for at least 20 years.
• Queensland's area-averaged mean temperature was 23.4 °C, 2.32 °C below the 1961–1990 average, the fourth warmest on record for all Septembers since 1910.
• A few sites had their highest September mean temperature on record.
• Cooktown Airport had its lowest September mean temperature on record.
