Hello from the Bureau here with your national weather forecast for tomorrow, Wednesday the 5th of November. We’ll start by taking a look at tomorrow’s weather map. There are a couple of troughs in the east bringing some wet weather to the south-east and north-eastern parts, while a high-pressure system in the Bight extends a ridge into eastern areas, bringing dry, settled conditions there. Out west, a low-pressure system is bringing showers, storms, and some rain areas.
In Queensland, it will finally be a dry and sunny day for the south-east. Dry and sunny conditions are expected across much of the state, apart from a few hit-and-miss showers and storms about eastern districts north of Rockhampton and around the Cape York Peninsula. Daytime temperatures will range from the mid to high 20s in the south to the low 30s elsewhere. For Brisbane, expect a sunny day with a top of 30°C.
In New South Wales, another dry and sunny day is expected across much of the state, apart from a few showers about the southern slopes and ranges and in the eastern Riverina. Daytime temperatures will sit in the mid to high 20s across most areas, grading down to the low teens in the south-east. For Sydney, a sunny day with light winds and a top of 25°C. For Canberra, there’s a slight chance of an early morning shower, clearing to a mostly sunny afternoon and a top of 19°C.
In Victoria, just a few showers are expected on and south of the ranges, gradually contracting to the southern coast before clearing during the evening. Daytime temperatures will be in the mid to high teens in the south, grading up into the low 20s in the north-west. For Melbourne, expect a cloudy day with showers, most likely about the south-eastern suburbs, and a top of 19°C.
In Tasmania, it’s going to be a cool and cloudy day with showers most likely through western and southern parts. For Hobart, cloudy conditions with showers and a top of 15°C.
In South Australia, just a few isolated light showers are expected about the south coast and south-eastern parts. It will be cool in the south-east, grading to warm elsewhere. For Adelaide, a partly cloudy day with a slight chance of a shower and a top of 20°C.
In Western Australia, the low-pressure system will move eastwards to cross the coast, pushing a rain band eastwards with embedded thunderstorms. Severe thunderstorms are possible, bringing heavy rainfall, damaging winds, or large hail. For more information, a separate severe weather video is available on the Bureau’s website and social media. Otherwise, showers and storms are possible across much of WA. For Perth, expect a shower or two and the chance of a thunderstorm, with a top of 25°C.
Across the Northern Territory, showers and storms are expected across the Kimberley and the Top End, most likely during the afternoon and evening. Further south into the interior, conditions will be dry and sunny. For Darwin, expect a shower or two and the chance of a thunderstorm, with a top of 35°C.
