Hello from the Bureau, it's the 16th of November and here's a look at this week's weather.

A band of cloud and storms has been affecting eastern and northern parts of the country this weekend. Quite a lot of rain for south-east Queensland, and moderate falls through central Queensland, northern New South Wales and parts of the Territory, alongside large hailstones and damaging wind gusts.

Moving into Sunday, this band of rain and storms is crossing the east coast, clearing much of New South Wales but lingering over Queensland and the far north. Elsewhere, it's hot and clear in the west, and a showery cool change crosses the south-east.

Monday sees most of the rain and storms clear the east coast but continue across the tropical north, with a chance of heavy rain up there. Dry elsewhere, except for showers and hail across the south-east, maybe even some snow in the mountains, caught up in a cold wind flow over Victoria and Tasmania.

Tuesday is looking the same. Cold and showery for south-eastern parts of the country, storms in the far north, and not much in between. A storm or two possible about the west coast north of Perth. Seasonal temperatures across Australia.

Wednesday will be at least the third fine, dry, sunny day for most areas. The risk of any noteworthy rain, above a couple of millimetres, is confined to just Tasmania, inland and southern Western Australia, and Far North Queensland.

More showers and possible storms for the southern half of Western Australia on Thursday, and we could see spotty hit-and-miss shower activity return to the eastern states. But it's just low rainfall totals forecast across the country.

Do keep an eye on the far north on Friday with a moderate chance of a Tropical Cyclone developing later in the week, which could get close to parts of the Northern Territory's Top End. Over the mainland, the week could finish like it started, with signs of another storm outbreak brewing across parts of New South Wales and southern Queensland, with moderate rainfall for those eastern states.

That’s the weather wrap done and dusted for today, we'll catch you in the next one.
