G'day from the Bureau for Mother's Day, Sunday the 10th of May.
It's been a chilly end to the week with a few showers about, that's a sure sign that winter is on its way but this week the weather will be dominated by a large high pressure system keeping things mostly dry, but there will be a few chances of rain around the country this week.
Today will be a dry, mild, and mostly sunny for much of the country, a nice day to treat your mum. The only showers will be across the Top End and northern and coastal Queensland.
Monday will see dry and sunny weather continue for much of country, with the only wet weather being across eastern New South Wales and Queensland in a moist onshore flow and across northern parts of Australia.
Showers will continue across much of eastern Australia on Tuesday mainly east of the ranges and around the Queensland, NT, and South Australia border areas with some unseasonal rain there. Elsewhere will continue to be dry and mild, tending warm in WA.
Wednesday will see showers and patchy rain spread across northern and eastern SA, with showers across the NT, western Queensland and much of the east coast. A front will also bring showers to far south-west WA, with dry and mild conditions elsewhere.
Showers will continue across parts of NT, Queensland, South Australia, and south-west WA on Thursday with widespread showers about eastern New South Wales and coastal Queensland, with dry mild to warm and sunny weather elsewhere.
Friday will see rain increase across South Australia as a trough approaches, with showers ongoing across the NT and much of eastern Australia in onshore flow and in south-west WA. Showers will also continue into the weekend for parts of northern and eastern Australia.
And that's it for our weekly forecast. Get the latest forecast and warnings via our website and app, and we'll see you again next Sunday.
