Hello from the Bureau with your weekly weather wrap for Sunday the 9th of November.

Over the past 24 hours, we've seen quite a range of weather across Australia. Severe thunderstorms in eastern New South Wales, a cloud band bringing showers to the Northern Territory and outback Queensland, while in southern Victoria and Tasmania, it felt like a brief return to winter.

For the rest of Sunday, showers will start to ease in the south-east of the country, but it still will be quite cool. Further north, showers and thunderstorms will move over eastern Queensland, particularly about the Capricornia coast. And a high-pressure system to the south of Western Australia will generate clear skies there.

On Monday, showers and storms remain a possibility along the Queensland and northern New South Wales coasts, but will be on an easing trend, and this will allow for the harvest to carry on. In the evening, a cold front will slide over South Australia, Victoria and Tasmania bringing showers and another sharp drop in temperatures.

Cold air extends into New South Wales on Tuesday, and temperatures will be up to as much as 10 degrees below average in the Riverina. And in the Top End you can expect more gusty thunderstorms as the build-up season rolls on.

Wednesday morning will be cold and potentially frosty all the way from the Eyre Peninsula and into the Mallee and Wimmera, but sunny skies will follow. A deepening surface trough over Western Australia will generate widespread storm activity that will dip into the Goldfields and the northern Wheatbelt.

Unsettled conditions move into South Australia and the country's Interior on Thursday, but rainfall through agricultural areas will be quite hit and miss, where crops are in their final growth stages.

By Friday, rain and storms are likely to impact large parts of eastern and northern Australia, setting the scene for another possibly wet weekend ahead.

And that's it for today. You can stay up to date with the latest forecasts and warnings through the week, and we'll see you next time. Bye for now.
