Western Australia in June 2025

Rainfall

• Rainfall totals in June were below to very much below average for parts of the Great Southern and Central Wheatbelt districts, as well as much of the Northern and Southern Interior, and generally close to average elsewhere.
• Small areas of the south and west of Western Australia received above average rainfall.
• Western Australia's area-averaged rainfall total in June was 14.2 mm, 47% below the 1961–1990 average.
• It was the driest June in Western Australia since 2020.
• Some sites had their highest June daily rainfall on record.
• Some sites in the South West and Gascoyne districts had their highest total June rainfall for at least 20 years.

Temperature

• Mean maximum temperatures in June were above to very much above average for most of the state, and below average for an area of the Kimberley district.
• Western Australia's area-averaged mean maximum temperature was 23.6 °C, 1.47 °C above the 1961–1990 average, the seventh-warmest on record for all Junes since 1910.
• Western Australia had its highest mean maximum temperature for June since 2020.
• Mean minimum temperatures in June were above to very much above average for southern Western Australia.
• Mean minimum temperatures in June were below to very much below average for parts of the Kimberley and for large parts of the Pilbara and Northern Interior districts.
• Western Australia's area-averaged mean minimum temperature was 9.8 °C, 0.05 °C above the 1961–1990 average.
• Western Australia's area-averaged mean temperature was 16.7 °C, 0.76 °C above the 1961–1990 average.
• Forrest had its highest June mean maximum temperature on record.
• Some sites had their warmest June night (highest daily minimum temperature) on record.
• Some sites had their highest June mean minimum temperature on record.
• Some sites had their highest June mean minimum temperature for at least 20 years.
• Some sites had their highest June mean temperature on record.
• Some sites had their highest June mean temperature for at least 20 years.

Events

• A low pressure trough along the west coast brought heavy rain from Carnarvon to Bunbury on 3 and 4 June. Cold fronts brought heavy rain to the south west on 18 and 21 June.
