Hello, Sarah from the Bureau here with your National Weather Forecast for tomorrow. So that's Friday, the 3rd of April. So let's start off taking a look at tomorrow's weather map. We have a cold front that's brushing across the far south east of the country, bringing a few showers with it, but then this ridge of high pressure is expected to quickly build behind it, directing a much cooler southerly flow across the region. Hit and miss showers are also forecast right along the east coast, but tending more scattered up towards the north, with some storms forecast as well right across that tropical northern area. Out in the southwest unstable conditions continue to bring showers and storms, potentially severe.
So let's go around the country now, state by state, taking a closer look, starting with Queensland. We have isolated showers that are forecast throughout the far eastern parts but tending more scattered north of the northeast tropical coast, and some storms are forecast as well across the Cape York Peninsula. As we head further inland, though dry, sunny and clear conditions with maximum temperatures in the mid 30s. Much cooler about the southeast coast, so with maximum temperatures in the mid to high 20s. For Brisbane, a partly cloudy day with a possible shower or two, a top of 28 degrees.
Down in New South Wales, hit and miss showers are expected across the far east, tending more scattered throughout the far south eastern parts and as well through the far north eastern areas. Morning fog patches are possible about the Eastern Ranges, but we head further west inland areas are expected to be clear, dry and mostly sunny. For Sydney a partly cloudy day with a chance of a shower or two and a top of 26 degrees, while for Canberra partly cloudy with a slight chance of a shower a top of 25.
Down in Victoria morning fog patches are possible throughout central and eastern districts and hit and miss showers on and south of the ranges, mostly throughout eastern parts. Elsewhere, though, partly cloudy and dry conditions are expected with daytime temperatures below average thanks to those southerly winds. For Melbourne a partly cloudy day with a slight chance of a shower, most likely during the morning a top of 18.
Down in Tasmania, there's just a slight chance of a light shower throughout western, central and southern parts. Otherwise, elsewhere, dry conditions are expected. For Hobart a cloudy day with a slight chance of a morning shower, a top of 15 degrees.
Up towards South Australia we're expecting it to be a generally dry and clear day, apart from the slight chance of a light shower about the exposed coast in the south east, and as well these showers at in the far south west, it's expected to be warm in the north quickly, grading to milder conditions as we head further south, particularly about the coast. For Adelaide, a partly cloudy day and a top of 24 degrees.
Over in WA those unstable conditions are continuing to bring showers and storms across large parts of the southern parts of the state, but are most likely through inland areas where severe thunderstorms are possible to bring heavy rainfall, damaging winds, or even some large hail. For Perth tomorrow expecting a mostly sunny day with a slight chance of a shower or an afternoon or evening thunderstorm a top of 28 degrees.
Heading up to our tropical north showers and storms are possible right across the Top End, but as we head further south, dry, clear and sunny conditions. For Darwin we're expecting a sunny morning and then a high chance of showers and a risk of a shower or storm a top of 34 degrees.
So that's it for our forecast today. If you're wanting a more detailed forecast for your local area, you can head to the Bureau's website, app, or social media. Otherwise, we'll see you again next time. Bye for now.
