Hello, Ilana here from the Bureau with your national weather forecast for tomorrow, the 1st of April.
Now we know it's April Fool's Day tomorrow, but tomorrow's weather forecast is no joke. So let's take a look.

Starting with an overview across the country, we see this band of showers and thunderstorms will extend across South Australia and then move into the south-eastern states during the day. That is associated with the passage of a cold front.

Further north, we have moisture feeding in to far north Queensland, bringing showers and thunderstorms. We will also see some light showers across the Queensland-New South Wales border coastal areas.

Further west, we are looking at dry and settled conditions under the influence of this high pressure ridge. Let's now take a look state by state, starting with Queensland.

In Queensland tomorrow, the bulk of the rainfall will be across the tropical north, where we have some moist east to south-easterly flow, bringing some moderate falls to the Cassowary Coast. Further south, in the south-east of the state, we are looking at just some lighter coastal showers, and further inland we are looking at dry, warm, and sunny conditions. For Brisbane, a top of 29 and a possible light shower.

We'll see fog tomorrow morning across much of the east, and then we'll see some showers develop for parts of the north-east coast and adjacent ranges. It will be dry for most of inland New South Wales. However, through the far south-west, we'll see an increase in cloud and possible isolated showers and thunderstorms later in the day with the passage of this trough. Sydney, though, won't see a bar of that. It will be dry and warm for Sydney, a top of 27.

Some morning fog about the east and then we'll see rainfall increase throughout the day. That will start off in the west and then move into central parts during the day. We will see warm northerly winds and then those winds will tend to cooler west to south-westerly. So for Melbourne, a warm day, a top of 27 and a possible afternoon shower.

It will start off dry. However, we'll see rainfall increase throughout the day with the passage of this cold front. It will start in the west and then extend through the east later in the day. It's warm tomorrow in Tasmania with temperatures between 20 and 25°C. For Hobart, we'll see a top of 24, partly cloudy conditions, and the slight chance of seeing one of those afternoon showers.

Tomorrow morning, we'll see some showers and thunderstorms about the north-west pastoral and agricultural areas of the state, but showers will ease off to the east later in the day. For Adelaide, we could see some morning showers and then a top of 23.

Western Australia will see some very settled conditions under the influence of this high-pressure ridge. Now, Western Australia is the one region tomorrow where we're looking at cooler than average conditions to start off the new month of April. That means that for Perth, we'll see just 13°C tomorrow morning, then warming up to a mild 23 and partly cloudy.

Across the tropical north, we'll see seasonal showers and thunderstorms, and those showers and storms will tend to be more scattered about East Arnhem Land. We'll also see some isolated showers and thunderstorms for parts of northern Western Australia. For Darwin, it's looking like another day with a top of 34°C and a possible afternoon shower or storm.

That's all for our national weather forecast. As always, if you'd like some more information, please visit the Bureau's website or app. Thank you so much for watching and have a great day!
