Hello, It's Angus here at the Bureau. This is the National Weather Forecast. We can take a look at the weather for Wednesday the 29th of April. And much like we've seen through this week, and most of last week, lots of Australia is under the influence of these H, these high pressure areas which extend across the south-east. They push up to central Australia and that means more fine settled and primarily dry weather for the day ahead and rainfall actually pretty hard to come by across the country tomorrow. Just a few regions could see some wet weather, including some showers across the east coast from about Sydney, all the way up to somewhere north of Cairns, and a little bit of rain for the southern interior of Western Australia.
Now Queensland will be one of those few spots that does see some rain. Certainly eastern Queensland will be, with intermittent showers possible right along the east coast. Now people who have lived along that east coast for a while will know when we get a day like this with stream showers pushing in from the ocean, they don't hit everywhere every day. So it will just be hit and miss falls across that east coast and where those showers do fall, they will not be heavy. Just 1 to 5 mm landing in the rain gauges that could affect Brisbane, but probably not the whole city, just parts of it getting some rain through the day and that's the idea right up the coast. A dry, clear and mild day right throughout interior Queensland.
Bright sunny, mild day through the interior of New South Wales as well. That is on and west of the ranges. So that does include Canberra. At this time of year we get a big swing in the daily temperatures where it's quite chilly in the morning, single digit temperatures, but it does heat up to the mid 20s during the afternoon. So it's a big climb and then it falls off again pretty quickly after sunset, heading into another chilly night. Some rain for the east coast north of Sydney. Now if we look at spots like the Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter, just a moderate chance of showers there. But get a little further north, the likes of Taree and Foster and from there northwards we've got a higher risk of showers through the Mid-North Coast and Northern Rivers, where we could see anywhere from 2 to 15 mm across the course of the day.
Short forecast for Victoria, beautiful day tomorrow. A bit of fog in the morning, possible once again, then clear, bright sunny and warm. Temperatures in the 20s across the state. Just Wilsons Promontory missing out with a high of 18. Melbourne tracking towards 23.
Some showers are possible overnight tonight in Tasmania, but they should clear up by about 6 am tomorrow morning. After that it is a clear, dry day with high pressure directly overhead, so barely a breath of wind. Any early clouds should dissipate by lunchtime and it will be a pretty sunny afternoon.
We'll see a mixture of sunshine and cloud across South Australia tomorrow, but none of the clouds should eke out any rainfall, so it will be a dry day across the state and some places will see that big swing in daytime temperatures. Mount Gambier from the single digits up to 26. Those daily highs are still way above the average for the time of year. Adelaide back into the upper 20s, as are all surrounding areas, and we're pushing 30 degrees through central SA.
Out to the west now, parts of the south will see some rain. Now none of that expected in Perth, but we could see some showers or thunderstorms through the south coast, the Great Southern, the Goldfields and even southern parts of the Wheatbelt. But it will be hit and miss stuff with variable rainfall totals. A few people could get something useful, 10 or 20 mm. A lot of people will get less than that. Perth itself a dry day with a mild southerly breeze and a high of 24, and all across the west coast and up to the north, it will be bright and sunny.
And finally to Australia's north. Now it's feeling pretty dry up here there is south-easterly winds and that lack of humidity might be welcomingly received at the end of what has been a long, humid, wet season across the north. Not much rain up here, possibly a few showers around Arnhem Land for the eastern Top End, but dry and sunny is the expectation for everyone else.
You can get more weather information on the Bureau's website, or the BOM Weather app. Or check back in here tomorrow and I'll be back with an updated forecast. But for now, thanks for watching and have a wonderful day.
