G'day from the Bureau for Sunday the 12th of April.

It's been a wintery few days in south-eastern Australia with showers, hail, thunderstorms, strong winds, and much cooler temperatures for many. We even saw widespread snow across elevated parts of Tasmania, while further north record April heat impacted NSW.

Sunday will see showers, gusty winds and alpine snow continue in Tasmania, Victoria and southern parts of South Australia, while it will be dry mild to warm and sunny elsewhere. Except for parts of western WA where there'll be some showers and thunderstorms.

Monday will see a large high-pressure system bring dry and sunny weather to much of the country with the only wet weather being across Tasmania and southern Victoria with showers, and western WA with isolated showers and thunderstorms.

Tuesday will see remnant moisture from Ex TC Maila bring rain and thunderstorms to Far North Queensland, with showers still ongoing in Tasmania and southern Victoria. Elsewhere it will be another dry mild to warm and sunny day with just a possible shower or storm in western WA.

Wednesday will see rain and thunderstorms spread across much of northern Queensland, with showers ongoing in Tasmania and southern Victoria, and showers and thunderstorms in western WA.

Thursday will be similar to Wednesday, with rain and thunderstorms in northern Queensland moving into eastern parts of the NT, showers and thunderstorms in WA and showers ongoing in Tasmania, Victoria, and southern South Australia.

Friday will continue the trend of rain and thunderstorms across northern Queensland and parts of the NT, showers easing in south-eastern Australia, and a cold front will approach south-west WA.

The weekend will see rain and storms continue across northern Australia, showers and isolated thunderstorms for south-west WA and dry, mostly sunny weather elsewhere.

And that's it for our weekly forecast, we'll see you again next Sunday.
