The Bureau has a range of processes to inform the public, industry groups and other service providers about changes to our routine information and services.
Frequently services are created, removed or altered in line with community feedback and advances in science and technology. Nominally the Bureau provides a minimum of 30 days notice prior to implementation of service changes.
Unexpected interruptions to routine services will be reported whenever possible.
Each routine service issued by the Bureau is identified by an alphanumeric product code, for example 'IDV60700'.
Notification of changes are communicated in a number of ways including:
A product change log is issued to assist other weather service providers with their change management processes. The first part of the change log displays new products. In the change log, products are organised according to the Bureau Program that is responsible for them, for example, Climate Services. The change notice for each product includes identification of the responsible Program, the product ID code, a brief description and a link to a sample for web products.
In the future, the product change log will be expanded to include changes to existing products and product cancellations.
