Synoptic Situation
A low pressure system tracking across Victoria will move rapidly southeastwards to lie near Wilsons Promontory about 0800 Sunday then east of Tasmania by 1500 Sunday and well southeast of Tasmania by Monday morning. A high pressure ridge will extend over Victoria on Monday while a weak cold front crosses Tasmania. A high pressure system will move across Victoria on Tuesday to eventually reach the Tasman Sea later on Wednesday.

Victoria. Central Coast, Cape Otway to Wilsons Promontory: Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between SA-VIC Border and Wilsons Promontory
Sunday until midnight:  Winds: Southeast to southwesterly 15 to 20 knots developing early this morning then tending west to southwesterly 20 to 30 knots during the late morning. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres increasing to 2 to 3 metres by the afternoon. Swell: Southwesterly about 1.5 metres. Swell: Southeasterly 0.5 metres.
Monday:  Winds: Westerly 20 to 30 knots decreasing to 20 to 25 knots later in the evening. Seas: Up to 4 metres decreasing to 3 metres during the afternoon. Swell: Southwesterly 1.5 to 3 metres. Swell: Southeasterly 0.5 metres.
Tuesday:  Winds: West to northwesterly 15 to 25 knots tending westerly 15 to 20 knots during the evening. Seas: 1.5 to 2 metres increasing to 3 metres during the morning then decreasing to 2 metres during the evening. Swell: Westerly 2 to 3 metres.

Victoria. Central Gippsland Coast, Wilsons Promontory to Lakes Entrance: Gale warning for Victorian waters between Wilsons Promontory and 60nm east of Gabo Island
Sunday until midnight:  Winds: Variable to 15 knots tending northwesterly and increasing to 20 to 30 knots during the morning then tending west to southwesterly 25 to 35 knots this afternoon. Seas: Near 1 metre at first, rising 3 to 5 metres this afternoon. Swell: Southeasterly 1.5 metres. Swell: Southwesterly about 1 metre.
Monday:  Winds: Westerly 20 to 30 knots. Seas: Up to 4 metres. Swell: Southwesterly 1 to 2 metres. Swell: Southeasterly about 1.5 metres decreasing to 0.5 metres from midday.
Tuesday:  Winds: Westerly 15 to 25 knots decreasing to 15 to 20 knots during the morning then increasing to 15 to 25 knots during the afternoon then decreasing to 10 to 20 knots during the evening. Seas: Up to 3 metres. Swell: Westerly 2 metres.

Victoria. East Gippsland Coast, Lakes Entrance to Gabo Island: Gale warning for Victorian waters between Wilsons Promontory and 60nm east of Gabo Island
Sunday until midnight:  Winds: Northerly 15 to 20 knots increasing to up to 30 knots in the east during the morning then tending northwesterly 20 to 30 knots around midday then tending west to southwesterly 30 to 35 knots mid to late afternoon. Seas: 1 to 2 metres increasing to 2 to 3 metres around midday then increasing to 4 to 5 metres during the afternoon. Swell: Southeasterly 1.5 metres. Swell: Southwesterly about 1 metre. The chance of thunderstorms during this afternoon.
Monday:  Winds: West to southwesterly 20 to 30 knots. Seas: Up to 4 metres decreasing to 3 metres during the morning then increasing to 3 to 4 metres during the afternoon. Swell: Southwesterly 1 to 2 metres. Swell: Southeasterly about 1.5 metres decreasing to 0.5 metres in the afternoon and evening.
Tuesday:  Winds: Westerly 15 to 25 knots tending west to southwesterly 10 to 20 knots during the morning then tending west to northwesterly during the evening. Seas: Up to 3 metres decreasing to 2 metres during the morning. Swell: Southwesterly about 2 metres.


Tasmania. Far Northwest Coast, Sandy Cape to Stanley and King Island:
A Gale Warning is current.
Sunday until midnight:  Variable winds 5 to 15 knots tending southwest at 20 to 30 knots in the morning then westerly in the afternoon and reaching 35 knots locally in the evening. Possible sea fog. Seas to 2 to 4 metres. West to southwest swell near 1 metre building to 2 to 3 metres late.
Monday:  Westerly winds 20 to 30 knots, 35 knots locally at first, easing to 15 to 25 knots late afternoon. Seas 3 to 4 metres. Westerly swell building to 4 to 5 metres.
Tuesday:  West to northwest winds 15 to 25 knots, 30 knots locally at first, easing to 10 to 20 knots late afternoon. Seas to 2 to 3 metres. Westerly swell 4 to 5 metres, decaying to near 4 metres later.


Tasmania. Central North Coast, Stanley to the Northern Tip of Flinders Is:
A Gale Warning is current.
Sunday until midnight:  Variable winds to 15 knots tending southerly during the morning at 10 to 20 knots then westerly in the afternoon at 20 to 30 knots, 35 knots locally in the evening. Possible sea fog. Seas to 2 to 3 metres. Confused swell to 1 metre tending westerly to 1.5 metres.
Monday:  Westerly winds 20 to 30 knots, possibly 35 knots locally at first. Seas 2 to 3 metres. Westerly swell near 1.5 metres.
Tuesday:  West to northwest winds 15 to 25 knots, reaching 30 knots locally in the east till evening. Seas near 2 metres. Westerly swell near 1.5 metres, slowly decaying.


Tasmania. Banks Strait and Franklin Sound:
A Gale Warning is current.
Sunday until midnight:  Variable winds to 15 knots tending southwest to southerly at 10 to 20 knots during the morning then westerly at 20 to 30 knots in the afternoon, 35 knots at times in the evening. Possible sea fog. Seas to 2.5 metres. Westerly swell near 1 metre.
Monday:  Westerly winds 20 to 30 knots, reaching 35 knots at times in Banks Strait till evening. Seas to 2 to 3 metres. Westerly swell 1 to 1.5 metres.
Tuesday:  West to northwest winds 20 to 30 knots, easing to 15 to 25 knots in the evening. Seas to 2.5 metres. Westerly swell 1 to 1.5 metres.
