First steps

MetEye allows you to see weather information on the map, and interact with the map. You select the information you want to see, where you want to see it and when.

I want to see what's happening now...

When you first visit MetEye, you will see the Latest weather observations of Current Temperature (°C) and rain radar, displayed on the map showing the whole of Australia.

This gives you a snapshot of the current (latest available) temperature observations around the country on the map, along with the Latest Rain Radar.

Example of Current temperature and Latest rain radar selected in left-hand menu

I want to see what's going to happen later in the week...

If you click once on the map over your location, you'll see the official Bureau of Meteorology forecast for the next 7-days (where available) in a table (popup).

Example of 7-day forecast popup when you click on the map

I want to see more...

If you need more detail about the weather, you can interact with the map by either zooming into your location (see Section 3) or changing what you see on the map (see Section 4).

This gives you a snapshot in time of the current (latest available) temperature observations around the country on the map, along with the Latest Rain Radar.
