Legends

Each Map layer has a map legend to aid in interpreting its colours as displayed over the map. When a map layer is selected, MetEye displays its Legend tab at the right-hand edge of map area.

Example of Show legend button, and the Legend that is shown when this button is clicked.

Click on the arrow to collapse or expand the current legend.

Some Map layers have their own special legends (i. radar, river heights and tropical cyclones). These appear under or beside the selected item in the viewer controls panel. Some of these legends can be hidden and reinstated using "Hide legend" and "Show legend".

Example of special legends for Latest rain radar and River conditions map layers.

Note: The Current Tropical Cyclone layer and its corresponding legend will only be visible when a Tropical Cyclone track map has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology, i.e. when a tropical cyclone is active in the Australian region of responsibility.
