Find your location

Find a location (further instructions)

By clicking in the Locate box (the default text will disappear) you can enter commonly used location details such as your town or postcode.

Image showing where the Locate box is situated.

There could be multiple locations with the same name or postcode, so once you have entered your location you may be prompted to select from a list of possible places. Move to the appropriate suggested location and select it.

Example of the list of possible places that is shown when a location is entered into the Locate box.

Note: Pressing 'Enter' without choosing from the suggestion list will automatically select the first location in the list.

Once you select your location the map will automatically centre itself, zoom in to that location and provide a 7-day tabular forecast for that location.

The temperature and rainfall forecast information is shown (out to 7 days) automatically for the location. For Temperature wind direction and speed on each day, click on the Detail button.

Example of detailed information for each day in the popup.

You can also enter your location using a latitude and longitude. For instance; for Angaston you would enter 34.5S, 139.05E or -34.5,13.05

It does not matter if your latitude and longitude isn't for a town, the search will still return a result for the point.

Once you press 'Locate' the map immediately centres on that location and places a pink marker, giving it a name such as 'Angaston'.

Example of a search marker placed on the map.

Your last chosen location will remain in the search area so if you have moved away from your previously chosen location with the map's scroll or pan (click on map and drag), then click on the 'Locate' button again and you will return to that location.

If your location name is not available in the list, then try switching on one or more overlays (found at the bottom of the screen) to help find your location on the map manually.

Tip: Alternatively you could try search for a nearby known location.

See Section 4c for more information.
