Satellite Notes for the 0600UTC chart on 28 August 2014

Issued at 6:05 pm EST Thursday on 28 August 2014

Areas of cloud with isolated thunderstorms over northern Tasman Sea are associated with a complex low pressure system and an upper level disturbance. Moist onshore flow has brought areas of low level cloud to eastern New South Wales and southeast Queensland.

A weakening cloud band is moving over Tasmania and a large band of cloud can be seen over southwest WA ahead of an approaching cold front.

The remainder of the country is mostly clear due to the presence of a high pressure ridge.
