A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea maintains a weak ridge over Tasmania this morning. A cold front is forecast to approach Tasmania later today, crossing the state from the west on Wednesday, followed by a ridge of high pressure extending from a high centred well to the west of the state on Thursday, forecast to persist into Friday.

- North to northeasterly below 10 knots tending northwesterly 10 to 15 knots in the middle of the day. Winds reaching up to 20 knots near Eddystone Point in the late afternoon.
