Weather Situation
An approaching trough crosses Tasmania late tonight and early tomorrow morning. A ridge of high pressure is expected to extend over Tasmania by tomorrow evening, with the high centre to move just to the north of the state on Wednesday. The high is forecast to move east over the Tasman Sea during Thursday as a strong cold front builds south of the Bight, and moves over Tasmania on Friday.

Strong Wind Warning for Tuesday for East of Flinders Island
- Winds
- Northerly 15 to 20 knots turning westerly during the morning. Winds reaching up to 30 knots offshore during the afternoon and evening.

- 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2.5 metres offshore during the morning.
- Swell
- Southerly below 1 metre, tending southeasterly 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning.

- Southeast to southwesterly 15 to 25 knots becoming variable about 10 knots in the morning then becoming north to northwesterly 10 to 15 knots in the late evening.
