Daly: Key findings

For the water account period 1 July 2023 to 30 June 2024

  • Annual rainfall in the Daly region during 2023-24 was the sixth wettest on record, of which more than 99% fell during the wet season, contributing to the region's third-wettest two-year period on record.
  • Groundwater levels increased in both aquifers, reflecting the above-average rainfall improving recharge across the region.
  • Water taken from surface water and groundwater resources for consumptive use was 37 GL, around 40% less than last year.
