Fitzroy: Key findings

For the water account period 1 July 2016–30 June 2017

  • High rainfall in July 2016 and March 2017 contributed to above-average rainfall for the year.
  • Heavy rainfall in late-March 2017 associated with ex-tropical cyclone Debbie contributed to an increase in storage volume at the end of the year.
  • The region had the highest volume of allocation trading in Australia outside the Murray–Darling Basin.
